Bluenose II maiden voyage 1963
We thought our clients would like to know that the husband of one of staff members in Nova Scotia is working on this historic and fascinating project. Watch them work to build this famous symbol of Canada shown proudly on the back of the Canadian dime.

History under sail! As part of the Bluenose II Restoration Project, you can view the construction phase by checking this webcam link See in real-time the various trades at work or visit the Lunenburg Shipyard and witness first-hand Nova Scotia Boat Building at its best.

Each summer, Bluenose II - Nova Scotia's Sailing Ambassador -gives public cruises and travels to special events near and far. Stories of Lunenburg's Original Bluenose and Captain Angus Walters have enthralled generations of Atlantic Canadians. As the undefeated Queen of the North Atlantic, she was the world's most famous Nova Scotian fishing schooner. Her remarkable voyage began with her launching from Lunenburg's Smith & Rhuland boatyard on March 26, 1921. It tragically ended a quarter century later.

In 1963, Bluenose II was launched from the same shipyard, built by many of the men who had worked on the Original Bluenose. Bluenose II is operated by the Lunenburg Marine Museum Society on behalf of the Province of Nova Scotia. Their dedicated service to the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic which they also operate, and Bluenose II is well-matched with their knowledge of vessel maintenance, engineering, fabrication, retail and accounting. Many members have long-standing family roots in various aspects of our maritime heritage.
