Snowtek AdventuresWalking, cross country skiing, horse drawn sleigh rides and dog sledding to name a few of the activities that will keep you invigorated on this six day adventure.

DAY ONE
Arrival at the lodge by noon just in time for a light lunch of homemade delights. The afternoon involves lightly paced outdoor activities as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or just a leisurely walk. The wholesome evening meal is followed by stories of local folklore and /or musical tunes.

DAY TWO
After a hearty breakfast, guests board a horse-drawn logging sleigh and are taken out to the woodlot. Your guide introduces you to the sustainable horse logging band saw operation. After the intentions of the operation are fully explained, theory is put into practice. Initial logging is begun only to find our appetites saying it is time for lunch. After lunch, with the morning's observations in mind, you become engaged in real timber harvesting: from tree selecting, falling with an axe or crosscut saw, limbing, perhaps even a bit of horse skidding or helping with the band saw. A balance of modern and traditional methods will demonstrate a viable operation of which you can be an active part. Bigger is not always better.

Time for the evening meal will come quickly and with appetites that follow a day in the woods. Guests will find sleep comes easily from the pure fresh air and the invigorating exercise. Life is good!

DAY THREE
Another method of traditional travel is experienced by the use of a dog team. The morning is spent socializing with the dogs and becoming familiar with the equipment used. After lunch, harnesses are put on Annie, Rusty, Mubok, Misty, Tracker, Outlaw and Jade, sleds hitched up and off we go. So many options for trails and distances, only your imagination limits your possibilities. Sleep will again come easy after an invigorating day in the pure fresh outdoor air.

DAY FOUR
Today the day begins with a horse sleigh ride. Your senses awaken to the freshness of the morning, the sounds of the sleigh runners slicing through the snow, the quick movements of the horses as they carry you in comfort into the vibrant Porcupine Forest. You arrive back at the lodge in time to enjoy a light lunch. We are going out for supper, which takes us on a short trip that allows us to view the Swan River Valley, its wide expanse covered with snow. Supper is at the Whistle Stop in Norquay. Good local small-town cuisine!

DAY FIVE
Skijoring is a Norwegian sport, meaning ski driving. Another great way to enjoy winter! Start out slow with our small Alaskan dog Annie and possibly at the end of the day, skijoring with Queenie our Suffolk Punch mare. Other options are yours to choose: cross country skiing, snowshoeing, or horseback riding. Bring your favourite book along to read in front of the fire tonight.

DAY SIX
A morning walk, snowshoe or ski provides a last glance at the peace and beauty that makes the boreal unforgettable. You begin the return trip after lunch.
