National ParksDiscover the unique landscapes of Arizona and Utah as you travel through three national parks and beautiful scenery on this popular Southwest vacation. Begin your trip in Scottsdale and travel north through cactus-studded scenery to Sedona. In Sedona, see the massive red-rock formations that make the area infamous. Continue north to watch the sun set upon the spectacular Grand Canyon—sunrise is just as impressive—and be awed by the magnificent scenery. Your hotel is located on the rim of the Grand Canyon, giving you a rare opportunity for great views. Meet local Navajos at a cookout and admire the stunning rock formations of Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. Enjoy a 4-wheel-drive tour of Monument Valley with a knowledgeable Navajo guide, and marvel at the area’s stunning rock formations, oddly shaped monoliths, and red sandstone.

Then travel west to Lake Powell for an afternoon cruise on the sparkling blue water. A full day at leisure in Lake Powell gives you time to relax, pursue your favorite activities, join an optional float trip on the Colorado River, or take an optional flightseeing trip over Lake Powell. More splendid views await you in Utah's Bryce Canyon National Park and Zion National Park. Watch the colors change on the massive stone formations before venturing on to Las Vegas for an orientation tour of one of America’s most popular vacation destinations. Extending your vacation gives you additional time and three nights to enjoy Las Vegas' many attractions and amusement parks. You’ll return home from this Canyon Country Adventure vacation with lots of photos and memories to share with friends and family.

Day 3 Grand Canyon–Monument Valley
If you missed the sunset, sunrise is just as impressive! After breakfast your Tour Director will suggest optional flightseeing over the Grand Canyon—definitely the thrill of a lifetime. Then, leave via Desert View Point for more magnificent perspectives. On to MONUMENT VALLEY NAVAJO TRIBAL PARK, 30,000 acres of stunning rock formations. Overnight at renowned Goulding’s Lodge, located in the heart of Monument Valley and where Hollywood directors and stars stayed during the filming of famous motion pictures such as Stagecoach, The Harvey Girls, and Fort Apache. This evening, enjoy a NAVAJO COOKOUT, followed by entertainment performed by local Navajos. (B,D)

Special Feature: Your overnight lodging is located in the heart of Monument Valley, a once-in-a-lifetime experience and special feature of your vacation.

Day 4 Monument Valley–Lake Powell
This morning, enjoy a 4-WHEEL DRIVE TOUR of Monument Valley with a knowledgeable Navajo guide. Explore the area’s oddly shaped monoliths, buttes, and mesas of red sandstone—the setting for some of John Ford’s most memorable films. Drive west to Lake Powell, where sparkling blue water laps against towering, sheer, red-rock canyon walls and sandy beaches. The majestic beauty of this vast man-made lake can be appreciated on the afternoon CRUISE. See gigantic Glen Canyon Dam and the “tapestry” walls of Antelope Canyon. Free time later for a leisurely stroll along Wahweap Marina on the shores of Lake Powell. (B,D)

Day 5 Lake Powell
Today is at leisure. Maybe join the optional float trip excursion on the Colorado River through Glen Canyon, winding through towering red walls of the canyon. The photo opportunities are unique. Or perhaps take a flightseeing trip over Lake Powell, including famous Rainbow Bridge and Glen Canyon Dam! As the balance of the day is free, sit back and relax in this magnificent setting, or pursue your favorite activities and interests. (B)

Day 6 Lake Powell–Bryce Canyon–Zion National Park
Depart from the splendid views of Lake Powell and head for Utah’s BRYCE CANYON. Drive through the park, with photo stops to capture the magnificent contrasts of bright red, yellow, and pink pillars called “hoodoos.” Years of erosion have carved colorful sandstone into thousands of spires, arches, and mazes for an unforgettable sight. Next, see nearby ZION NATIONAL PARK, a spectacle of massive stone formations whose colors change with the light of the day and the season. To the Mormon pioneers, it was a haven of beauty resembling natural temples and cathedrals, and they called it “Little Zion.” (B,D)
