Night 3 & 4: Old Faithful Inn Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming A National Historic Landmark, the Old Faithful Inn dates back to 1904 and is one of the largest log structures in the world. When the Old Faithful Inn opened its doors, it boasted steam heat and electric lights – amazing amenities for a hotel in such a remote location at the turn of the 20th century. The hotel’s “just-steps-away” proximity to Old Faithful Geyser makes it the most sought-after accommodation in Yellowstone National Park. This imposing, historic hotel features a 65-foot-high ceiling soaring seven stories above the lobby floor that is a must-see attraction in its own right. Comfortable seating areas overlooking the lobby and enormous stone fireplace are found on balconies above. Leaded glass windows create the atmosphere of the forest as they filter the sun’s light. Guestrooms are simple, yet comfortable, reflecting the atmosphere of Yellowstone’s wilderness locale. The views of the Old Faithful geyser from the second-floor terrace are marvelous. The Old Faithful Inn, with its western frontier sense of size, space and grandeur, is a wonderful experience in Yellowstone National Park. Old Faithful Snow Lodge Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming Completed in 1999, the Old Faithful Snow Lodge is the newest lodge in Yellowstone National Park and is located near the famous Old Faithful Geyser. In keeping with the ambiance of the park, guestrooms feature a simple, traditional style and the hotel’s décor is very much in keeping with its rustic location, with wildlife- and park-themed furnishings and appointments. Although thoroughly modern, classic post-and-beam construction, the big stone fireplace and huge windows offering grand views create a pleasing western ambiance. Known as the trendiest hotel in Yellowstone National Park, it is also one of only two hotels open during the winter months. The Old Faithful Snow Lodge won the Cody Award for Western Design and has been featured as Travel + Leisure’s Inn of the Month. See how many wrought-iron bears you can spot as your family wanders through the lodge. Night 5: Holiday Inn Cody at Buffalo Bill Village Cody, Wyoming Conveniently located in downtown Cody in close proximity to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, the Holiday Inn Cody is one of the best hotels in the city. The hotel features a swimming pool and a fitness room to enjoy during leisure time and offers on-site, self-serve laundry facilities for guests’ use. The comfortable guestrooms are nicely decorated in Holiday Inn’s typically pleasing contemporary style.
