Lourve ParisJoin us on this 5 day tour of Prague where the focus is on Czech art, music and history. Enjoy a la carte fine dining at selected gourmet restaurants. While in Prague, visit the Prague Castle, the Art Nouveau Mucha Museum, the Strahov Monastery and its renowned Library, and take an in-depth tour of the historic Old Town and the Jewish neighborhood of Josefov. Then take a night time carriage ride and enjoy the Mozart music concert.

Day 1: (When combining this tour with the Budapest and the Transdanubia Tour):
Breakfast at the hotel in Budapest. Morning departure from Budapest to Prague in a comfortable van or bus. Travel time is approximately 5.5 hours. En route, there will be a lunch break at Chateau Slavkov, better known as Austerlitz, the place of the Battle of Three Emperors, where in 1805 Napoleon defeated the combined forces of Austrian Emperor Ferdinand I and Russian Tsar Alexander I. After arriving in Prague in the afternoon, you will meet the other travelers and enjoy a leisurely evening walk around Prague, which will introduce you to the spectacular Old Town and its most celebrated landmarks.

Day 2: Breakfast at the hotel. Start the day with a private, historian led tour of the medieval Old Town. The tour's focus will be the history of Prague reflected in its architecture, and will include the Charles Bridge, the Old Town Square, the Old Town Hall, the Astronomical Clock, the Art Nouveau buildings with the Municipal House, followed by a visit to the Mucha Museum - city's most famous Art Nouveau collection - and a walk around the Venceslas Square. Enjoy early dinner in one of the Old Town's atmospheric wine cellars, followed by an opera by Mozart in the original setting (Theatre of the Estates where Mozart himself conducted his Magic Flute premiere performance).**

Day 3: Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, you will explore the Prague Castle: see the Castle Square, learn about medieval crafts involved in building a cathedral during a visit to St. Vitus Cathedral, admire the varied styles of the Old Royal Palace and the Basilica of St. George, full of dazzling masterpieces of Gothic and Renaissance art. Watch the artisans perfecting their craftworks as you walk on the enchanted Golden Lane, then stroll down to the Old Town through the Castle Gardens, the Wallenstein Gardens and Palace and the fairytale Little Quarter (Mala Strana) neighborhood with the baroque St. Nicholas Church. In the evening, celebrate the city's spirit with dinner at Prague's oldest beer hall serving traditional Bohemian specialties. Optional evening at the Black Light Theatre.

Day 4: Breakfast at the hotel. Top your appreciation of Prague with a guided, docent-led tour of the poignant Josefov Jewish District, including the Spanish Synagogue, the Old-New Synagogue and the Old Jewish Cemetery. Gain deeper appreciation for the city, its history and exciting offerings, as you explore Prague according to your individual interests during the free afternoon. In the evening, see the city from a baroque horse-drawn carriage, as you revisit Old Town's most romantic spots. Share your memories and impressions of Prague over the farewell dinner.

Day 5: Breakfast at the hotel. Before leaving Prague, spend some time exploring some of the magnificent churches, small museums, puppeteers' and other artisans' shops. Private limousine transportation to the airport according to your flight departure time.

Tour participants who will come directly to Prague will meet the rest of the group in the hotel and enjoy the evening walking tour on the first day.
