Overnight flight to Athens Day 2 - Arrive Athens (2 nights) Welcome to Athens! You are met and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, the rest of the day is at leisure to relax and unwind. Later, we enjoy a Welcome Drink with our local Representative. Hotel: Zafolia (2 nights) Day 3 - Athens sightseeing This morning our guided sightseeing tour includes a visit to the Acropolis, which literally means ‘highest point’, and was formally proclaimed as the pre-eminent monument on the European Cultural Heritage list of monuments in March 2007. Then we see the Olympic stadium and the Evzone guards at the tomb of the unknown soldier. We will also tour some of the most famous sites in Athens such as the Temple of Zeus and Hadrian's Arch. Afterwards, your afternoon and evening is at leisure. Why not dine on local specialties in one of Athens' many cosmopolitan restaurants? (Buffet Breakfast) Day 4 - Athens - Mykonos (3 nights) First we drive to the port of Piraeus to board our ferry which will take us to the Cycladean Island of Mykonos, playground of the rich and famous. On arrival at this beautiful island, we are transferred to our hotel. Then we are free to explore this white-washed island with its unique windmills, narrow winding pathways and tempting boutiques. This evening we enjoy a Highlight Dinner of local specialties and afterwards have the chance to experience the uninhibited nightlife of this vibrant island! (Buffet Breakfast / Highlight Dinner) Hotel: Petinos / San Giorgio / Manoulas Beach (3 nights) ![]() Days 5 & 6 - Mykonos at leisure We have two glorious days at leisure to enjoy Mykonos. The island has 9,320 inhabitants most of whom live in the principal town, also called Mykonos but known as Chora, which means ‘the town’ in Greek and is often used in Greece when the name of the island itself is the same as the name of the principal town. Mykonos is composed primarily of granite and has little natural fresh water, relying on the desalination of sea water in order to meet its needs. It is believed that the island was named after a local hero, who is considered an offspring of the god Apollo and was worshipped locally in antiquity. We have time to enjoy a cocktail in a waterfront restaurant and to take a swim at the dazzling beaches surrounding the island. Or maybe take the opportunity to take a short boat ride to the birthplace of Artemis and Apollo, the charming Island of Delos? (Buffet Breakfast / Buffet Breakfast) Day 7 - Mykonos – Santorini (3 nights) We will take a short ferry ride to the beautiful Island of Santorini where we spend the next three days. We are met at the port and transferred to our hotel. After check-in there is free time to begin to explore Santorini, also known as Thera, which actually comprises of a small circular archipelago of volcanic islands located in the southern Aegean Sea. Santorini is essentially what remains of an enormous volcanic explosion, destroying the earliest settlements on what was formerly a single island, and leading to the creation of the current geological caldera. Its spectacular physical beauty, along with a dynamic nightlife, have made the island one of Europe's tourist hotspots. This evening we enjoy a Highlight Dinner of local specialties. (Buffet Breakfast / Highlight Dinner) Hotel: El Greco / Kallisti (3 nights) Days 8 & 9 - Santorini at leisure Santorini has much to offer and you will have two full days to do as you please. Enjoy breathtaking views, white-washed houses, amazing sunsets and cobblestone streets which make Santorini a truly unique experience. Perhaps spend your days relaxing in clifftop restaurants and cafés, lazing on the sun-soaked black, red and white beaches. Or why not take a caique ride to the volcanic island of Nea Kamini and swim in the hot springs? (Buffet Breakfast / Buffet Breakfast) Day 10 - Santorini – Athens Today we make our way back by high-speed ferry to Athens for the final night of our tour. On our arrival at the port of Piraeus we are transferred back to our Athens hotel. We have time at leisure to do some last-minute shopping, or maybe to join our traveling companions for a celebration dinner on the final night of our memorable tour together. (Buffet Breakfast) Hotel: Zafolia Day 11 - Athens – USA Time to bid farewell to Greece and our new-found friends as this morning we are transferred to the airport for our return flight home to the USA. (Buffet breakfast) Please note Due to weather conditions, calls at the ports of Mykonos and Santorini may need to be altered. Traditional Greek Show Taverna Meal This is an evening excursion to a taverna in Plaka, which is within walking distance from most of the central Athens hotels. Excellent traditional Greek food in a lively atmosphere, entertained through dances and music from all parts of the country. Wine, beer and soft drinks are also included. Although the venue does have an official ending time, clients are more than welcome to stay on in the taverna, to join in with the local residents! (Casual dress) 52 (€) EP14 - CAPE SOUNION Take a relaxing trip down to the southernmost tip of Mainland Greece to see the fifth century B.C Temple of Poseidon at Sounion. See if you can spot where Byron carved his initials on one of the temple's sixteen columns. Marvel at the sheer rugged beauty of the coastline and the ancient temple perched above a 197-foot drop down to the Aegean Sea below. Stand above the site of the world’s first lighthouse, overlooking an area steeped in classical Greek history, ever since the tragic king Aegeas threw himself from the rocky precipice into the sea below, there by giving his name to the Aegean Sea. 37 (€) EP87 - MYKONOS. Ancient Delos. Delos, once a Sacred Island, is the legendary birthplace of God Apollo and his twin sister Artemis. For 500 years, this tiny island was the religious and commercial hub of the entire Aegean Sea. Today the whole territory of the deserted Delos is one of the most important archaeological sites of the eastern Mediterranean. During this half-day trip you may visit, amongst others, the remains of the Temple of Apollo, the sanctuary of Artemis, the old city and the theatre and then walk down the celebrated Lion Street. In the museum of Delos one can admire Archaic, Classical, Hellenistic and Roman Sculptures, a collection of vessels from all periods as well as small items of everyday use. 37 (€) EP117 - MYKONOS. Fun & Drive tour This is a trip for lovers of adventure, which offers you the chance to get acquainted with Mykonos' most remote recesses. Away from tarred roads, and with the expert help of our guide, you will drive across the island to its furthest points. Following a jeep trail we will find many remote, splendid crystal clear bays, inviting you to plunge into their waters. See deserted beaches as far as the lighthouse at the northern point of the island. We continue with a short visit to the monastery of Ano Mera, also to the historic, picturesque old cemetery in the vicinity. At noon you will stop for one more dive, then lunch and rest at a beautiful beach. From there, filled with vivid impressions and having visited the entire island, you will return to your starting point early in the afternoon, so that you have time to revive yourself for the evenings adventures. 58 (€) EP102 - MYKONOS. Island Tour. A walking tour through Mykonos town, strating from Fabrika Square, takes us to 'Tria Pigadia' (three wells), through 'Matogianni', the main shopping area, on to the local market and then to the harbour. We continue our walk to 'Paraportiani Church' and after that we go to 'Little Venice' and the windmills. We go back to Fabrika Square where our bus tour will take us to some of the most beautiful beaches of the most famous Greek island. The first stop is in Plati Yalos, one of the most protected and organised beaches on the South coast. Next stop is in Ornos beach with its little fishing harbour and then drive on to the bay of Agios Ioannis where we visit the little double church, which gave its name to the bay, and offers a fantastic view of Delos. Then we leave the South coast, driving past Korfos and Megali Ammos to arrive at Agios Stefanos beach for a photo stop and driving over the new peripheral road we visit the village of Ano Mera with its cosy square and the monk’s monastery “Panagia Tourliani”. We continue on to Kalafatis beach, famous for its relaxed atmosphere before drive back to Mykonos town where the tour ends in Fabrika square. 33 (€) EP106 - MYKONOS. Paradise Cruise. A mini-cruise on a fishing-boat will give you the opportunity to enjoy the sight of some of the island‚s most spectacular bays, from the sea. Sailing along Mykonos‚ southern coast, you will pass the beaches Paranga, Paradise, Super Paradise, Agrari, Elia and Kalafatis and reach the island of Dragonissi. If the weather permits the boat will enter the caves where there will be free time to swim and to snorkel. Otherwise the alternative beaches for the free time will be Frangias or a small private beach on Dragonissi. Next stop is the beach of Kalo Livadi for lunch (included). After lunch you can swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Aegean Sea, explore the sea-bottom with mask and snorkel or just relax under the Cycladic sun. cruise returns early in the afternoon. 59 (€) EP118 - SANTORINI. Fira at Night including dinner Tonight we go our for a walk to the capital town of Santorini to enjoy the sunset view from the Caldera. Afterwards we will savour local specialties at a restaurant overlooking the dramatic cliffs. After dinner you can try out the dazzling night life of Fira, or return to the hotel. 37 (€) EP88 - SANTORINI. Island Tour. We meet our local guide at the museum of Ancient Akrotiri and are given a full-guided tour within the museum itself. After this splendid visit, we board our coach and drive to the very top of Profitis Ilias, the highest point of the island for a panoramic view of Santorini. Continuing on, we drive to the village of Pyrgos for a 20-30 minute stop to marvel at the typical blue domed churches, before driving to Megalochori. Once in this traditional and unique village of Santorini, we walk for approximately 15 minutes through the streets and get a glimpse of life on the island. Completing this walk, we board the bus and head for the beach of Perivolos passing other villages such as Kamari and Emborio. We have approximately 2 hours on the beach where you can swim, have lunch or do both, before we head off to our winery to taste some famous local wines while overlooking the cliffs of the southern part of the island and enjoying this geological marvel that is Santorini. (Lunch is not included) 27 (€) EP90 - SANTORINI. Oia & Sunset Dinner After a twenty minute drive from the hotel to the North part of the island you will arrive in the beautiful village of Oia where you can wander the streets, stroll through some of the art galleries and take some breath-taking photos from the old castle. Then you board your bus once again and go to a charming restaurant with unrestricted views, five minutes outside of Oia. There you can taste some of the local specialties admiring on the same time one of the most spectacular sunsets in the world. After dinner, the bus takes you back to Fira where you can continue your night in town or retire to the hotel. (without dinner 21 Euros) 49 (€) EP91 - SANTORINI. Sunset & Caldera Cruise Taking the bus first to the port of Athinios where you will embark on the traditional boat that will take you for your cruise. After a few minutes sailing on the deep waters of the Caldera you will be in a unique viewpoint to fantastic scenery. Appetizers will be offered on board while you will be admiring the sun setting.
