Day 3: Bangkok Begin your exploration of this
modern Southeast Asian city by visiting the Grand Palace. The compound
includes more than 100 colorful buildings; golden spires; mosaics; and

Buddha is kept. Little is known about this statue, except that it is

Day 5: Siem Reap Travel early this morning to
Ta Prohm, entangled in the jungle and one of the most photographed
temples of the Angkor complex, as it is bathed in the golden light of
sunrise. You can explore the temple at leisure and take winning
photographs before other visitors arrive for the day. Then stop at two
less-visited areas: Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre. Also visit Sam's
Well Project, a Tour Operator Philanthropy project that endeavors to provide
clean drinking water to rural villages. After lunch, explore Angkor Wat
— one of the wonders of the world and a masterpiece from the Khmer
Empire.

Day 6: Siem Reap/Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City,
formerly known as Saigon, a beautiful mélange of French colonial
and Southeast Asian styles. After lunch, wander the city's colorful
Chinatown and explore the Thien Hau Pagoda, the most important pagoda
in Ho Chi Minh City. It serves for prayers to the Buddha as well as to
the Chinese deity Thien Hau Thanh Mau.

Day 7: Ho Chi Minh City This morning, explore the Cu
Chi Tunnel network, a key Vietcong resource during the Vietnam War.
These tunnels, which total hundreds of miles in length, once housed
storage rooms, make-shift hospitals and sleeping quarters that
accommodated rebel fighters for up to two weeks at a time. Design Your

Days 8-9: Ho Chi Minh City/Danang/Hoi An Arrive in Danang and continue

Day 11: Hanoi Visit Ho Chi Minh's house, a
simple two-story wooden house located among banyan, frangipani,
poinciana and milkweed trees. Continue to the lotus-shaped One Pillared
Pagoda, dating back to the first Vietnamese empire independent from
China in the 11th century; the Quanh Tanh Temple, housing a huge bronze
bell; and the Fine Arts Museum. Later, travel by cyclo through the Old
Quarter.
