Jewel of Crown12 Days to explore the Jewels of India to include hisotry, temples and much more. This tour includes visits to Delhi, Udaipur and Agra. 

DAY 01 ARRIVAL DELHI
Traditional welcome with garlands and transfer to Hotel for overnight.

DAY 02 DELHI
Your tour of Delhi presents the highlights of Old and New Delhi.- Jamma Mosque,the largest in India, The Qutab Minar, The Humayun’s Tomb, Raj ghat, the bazaars and shops in all their colours introduce you to the Indian magic.

DAY 03 DELHI/UDAIPUR
Welcome to Udaipur, the famed “City of Sunrise”. The Jagadish temple next to the city palace enshrines a black stone image of Lord Vishnu and his vehicle- a mighty bird called garuda - in a brass image.

DAY 04 UDAIPUR/RANAKPUR/JODHPUR
Ride out to Jodhpur, touring Ranakpur on the way . This is a site of some exquisitely carved white marble Jain temples. This evening in Jodhpur, go native riding horse carriages to the Clock Tower Bazaar. This is one of India’s largest and most colourful whole sale markets.

DAY 05 JODHPUR/ROHET/JODHPUR
This mornings tour includes the massive fort. Once inside, royal palaces abound with fascinating history and priceless jewels. Following the tour drive to Rohet for lunch. Walk along the narrow lanes of this fascinating town with ethnic and tribal lifestyles. Following lunch at the Royal Palace, late afternoon return back to Jodhpur.

DAY 06 JODHPUR/JAIPUR
A fascinating drive through tribal countryside brings you to Jaipur. Jaipur’s colorful bazaars tantalize the eye with enameled blue pottery, exquisite gem-studded jewelry, engraved brass work, traditional block-printed fabrics and brightly patterned dhurrie rugs together with traditional crafts and miniature paintings.

DAY 07 JAIPUR
This morning visit the Amber Fort which is set on the dry wrinkled Aravali Hills. Ride up to this hilltop palace on a caparisoned, painted elephant. Your guide will elaborate on the history of this architectural masterpiece with its mirror-studded alcoves, dazzling mosaics and water-cooled swings that delight today’s visitors as they did their former royal residents. Visit the Hawa Mahal or Palace of the Winds, a five-storied structure of pink sandstone with semioctagonal and delicately honeycombed windows overlooking the main street of the old city. Tours of Jaipur also include the City Palace & Observatory.

DAY 08 JAIPUR/FATEHPUR SIKRI/AGRA
Following breakfast drive to Fatehpur Sikri for a guided tour. From here continue riding to Agra and the massive Agra Fort. The Moti Masjid & other magnificent buildings reflect the skill of the ancient Indian architects.

DAY 09 AGRA
Agra is the city of the Taj Mahal, perhaps the most photographed monument in the world. At sun rise visit the Taj Mahal to witness this spectacular monument built for love.

DAY 10 AGRA/DELHI/VARANASI
Following breakfast we drive to Delhi. A short flight brings you to Varanasi, which is a mecca for Hindus. This evening we take a short trip to the Buddhist city of Sarnath where Buddha preached his first sermons after attaining enlightenment. The highlight of this tour would be a participation in the evening prayer service (aarti) of the main Buddhist temple.

DAY 11 VARANASI
Proceed on a boat ride at sunrise on the Mother Ganges River. Visit some of the popular temples of the city as well as the renowned University of Varanasi. Visit the bustling Gadolia bazaar where would never have seen so many cycle rickshaws and heard the cacophony of so many cycle rickshaw bells !

DAY 12 VARANASI/DELHI
In the afternoon, a short flight to Delhi for your journey home. This evening visit a local family for an Indian home experience. The evening is designed to give you a ‘feel’ and insight into Indian family life as well as experience typical hospitality and home made Indian food.
