Overnight flight to Rome.

Day 2 ARRIVE ROME (2 NIGHTS)
Welcome to Rome, the Eternal City! Relax after your journey or take a leisurely stroll through ancient streets. This evening, join your Travel Director and traveling companions for a Welcome Reception and evening orientation drive to see St. Peter's Basilica. This is the perfect introduction to the sights which await you!

Day 3 ROME SIGHTSEEING AND FREE TIME
Your expert Local Guide takes you on a guided visit to St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican, home of Michelangelo’s famous Pietà. Visit the Sistine Chapel with your Local Guide and admire the magnificent painted ceiling by Michelangelo. Your sightseeing tour continues across the Tiber to ancient Rome where you view the Forum. Visit the mighty Colosseum, site of public events, and see the Circus Maximus. Spend the rest of the day seeing the sights of your choice. Shop for souvenirs or relax and watch the world go by.

Day 4 ROME - VENICE
Follow the valley of the River Tiber north into Umbria and pass the impressive hilltop towns of Orte and Orvieto. Through Tuscan landscapes and terraced olive groves, over the Apennine hills, past Bologna and the across Veneto plains you arrive at your hotel in Venice. Enjoy dining at your hotel this evening.

Day 5 VENICE SIGHTSEEING - LAKE GARDA
Savor the sights and sounds of this floating Byzantine city on your included canal cruise by private launch to St. Mark's Square. View the Bridge of Sighs and the ornate Doge’s Palace. Visit a glass-blowing workshop, with free time afterwards to explore on your own. Later, cross the Veneto to the Italian Lake District where you dine tonight.

Day 6 LAKE GARDA - FLORENCE
Enjoy stunning views of Lake Garda this morning! In Florence, the city’s rich medieval and Renaissance history is brought to life by your expert Local Guide. See Piazza Signoria, with its impressive sculptures and imposing palazzi. View the multi-colored marble Duomo and the famous Baptistery with bronze doors. View the Ponte Vecchio, a spectacular feat of engineering dating from the Middle Ages. Later, use free time to explore, relax or shop for high quality leather goods and 18-carat gold jewelry. This evening enjoy a memorable Tuscan Be My Guest dining experience.

Day 7 FLORENCE - ROME
Traveling south, the Tuscan landscape - characterized by rolling hills and picturesque olive groves - is breathtaking. Through Umbria’s shady valleys with olive and cypress trees you reach the valley of the Tiber River, which leads you back to Rome. Spend leisure time relaxing or exploring.
