 MEXICO'S COLONIAL CITIES
MEXICO'S COPPER CANYON
Discover Mexico’s colonial cities on this vacation through the heart of Mexico. Your trip starts in Mexico City, Mexico’s capital, founded in 1521. A city sightseeing tour includes visits to the cathedral, National Palace, and Frida Kahlo Museum. Visit Casa Azul, where Frida Kahlo lived with her muralist husband, Diego Rivera. Then, from Mexico City, travel to Teotihuacan, “the place where men became gods.” This major archeological center, one of the Mexico’s best preserved, includes the Pyramid of the Sun, built around 100 AD. A steep climb of 242 steps takes you to the top where the temple once stood and offers impressive overviews of the city.
Experience the breathtaking scenery of Mexico during this incredible Copper Canyon vacation! Your trip begins in Tucson, Arizona, before traveling south through Tombstone to Nuevo Casas Grandes, Mexico. There you tour a local pottery studio, as well as the Paquime archaeological site, the most important archeological site in northern Mexico. Next, travel to Chihuahua to see the 18th-century cathedral, the Government Palace, and the former home of Pancho Villa. Enjoy the natural beauty of the Sierra Tarahumara mountain range on the way to the lumber town of Creel, where you drive through the Valley of the Mushrooms with its strange monolithic formations to visit the cave dwellings of the Tarahumara Indians.

TREASURES OF THE YUCATAN WITH EXTENDED STAY IN PLAYA DEL CARMEN
MEXICO'S TREASURE - THE YUTACANS PENINSULA
Explore the history of ancient civilizations during this grand Yucatan vacation. Spend the first night of your trip in beautiful Cancun. Then tour the beachfront ruins at Tulum. This stunning 12th-centruy site, once inhabited by the Mayas and Toltecs, is set atop coastal cliffs overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Your tour then takes you to the Mayan city of Coba, an important Mayan city during the 8th and 9th centuries, en route to legendary Chichen Itza. During your stay in Chichen Itza, built by the Maya between 600 and 900 AD, visit the Ball Court, site of many human sacrifices; El Castillo, a formidable building dedicated to the high priest; and the Cenote Sagrado, the sacred well once filled with priceless treasures offered to the gods.
Mexico's lush Yucatan is a tropical paradise filled with ancient ruins, baroque colonial architecture and exotic flora and fauna. Geographically isolated, the Yucatan is home to a unique culture influenced by the indigenous Mayan Indians and historic trading partners from the Caribbean and Europe. Marvel at ancient Mayan pyramids and temples, learn about traditional Mayan and Mexican cultures and savor the delicious flavors of regional cuisine during your sojourn in Yucatan.
