Join this 11 day tour of Portugal Morocco and Spain, with visits to include Lisbon, Madrid, Toledo, Granada, Tangier, Gibraltar and Seville

Day 1- Depart USA
Overnight flight to Lisbon.

Day 2 - Arrive Lisbon
The Tour Operator meets you at the airport and transfers you to your hotel. Late afternoon sightseeing with a local guide shows us the Belem Tower, Hieronymite Monastery, the Monument to the Explorers, and the Suspension Bridge over the Tagus River overlooked by the fine statue of Christ the King. Tonight a Welcome dinner with wine will provide an excellent introduction to our tour. (Welcome Dinner)

Day 3 - Lisbon to Madrid (2 nights)
Today we cross the Bridge of the 25th April and into the Alentejo countryside. We pass Montemoro, site of the miracle of the roses to enter Spanish Estremadura, land of the conquistadors and explorers. Then via Trujillo, where Pizarro, the conqueror of Peru was born, to the castles of Oropea and Masqueda in Castile. Finally we arrive in the Spanish capital, Madrid. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Day 4 - Madrid sightseeing & at leisure
Our morning sightseeing shows us the Puerta del Sol, the Cervantes Memorial in the Plaza de Espana, the Paseo del Prado and the Cibeles fountain as well as the Casa de Campo. Then free time to perhaps take an excursion to the monastery-palace of Philip II. (Buffet Breakfast)

Day 5 - Madrid - Toledo - Granada
This morning we travel to the ancient capital of Castile, Toledo where with a local guide we visit the old town encircled by the river Tagus, on foot. We see the El Greco masterpiece and the Church of Santo Tomé and visit a Toledo steel workshop. Then on into Andalusia to hilltop Granada in the shadow of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Day 6 - Granada - Tangier (2 nights)
Today`s first highlight is a guided visit to the exquisite Moorish Alhambra Palace with its fountain filled courtyards and Mozarabic architecture. Then on to the Costa del Sol, stopping in the resort of Marbella and along the coast to Algeciras where we board our ferry for the cruise to Morocco and Tangier! (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Day 7 - Tangier sightseeing & at leisure
Sightseeing shows us the residential quarter, the Arabic mosque and Cape Spartel, where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean. We also visit the 'casbah', where we can haggle over carpets in one of the best known carpet co-operatives. Later maybe take an excursion to one of the nearby Berber villages. (Buffet Breakfast)

Day 8 - Tangier – Seville (2 nights)
Today we board our ferry and cruise back to Spain, across the Strait of Gibraltar, with views of the famous rock. Then on through the Jerez vineyards, leading to Andalusia's most beautiful city, Seville. Tonight, why not enjoy a fiery flamenco show in one of the many lively night spots? (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Day 9 - Seville sightseeing & at leisure
Guided sightseeing includes the Giralda Tower and the fountains, pools and pavilions of the Maria Luisa Park built for the Hispano-American exhibition of 1929. We will also visit Europe’s largest Gothic Cathedral which houses the tomb of Christopher Columbus. Free time to perhaps enjoy a horse and carriage ride through the geranium-filled patios of the whitewashed houses. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner)

Day 10 - Seville - Lisbon
Via the best 'Jabugo' (ham) producing area of Spain, passing several Templar built castles, we enter Portugal and the Alentejo region. Back in Lisbon you may wish to take a trip to fairytale Sintra. Tonight, why not dine on Portuguese specialities whilst listening to haunting Fado melodies along the Bairro Alto? (Buffet Breakfast)

We transfer to the airport for your return flight home. (Buffet Breakfast)

Airport Transfers
Transfers on arrival at Lisbon Airport will operate at 09.30 and 13.30. Passengers arriving later should make their own way to the first hotel. Return transfers from the last hotel will arrive at Lisbon Airport at 07.00 and 09.30.

    * London Gateway passengers purchasing either “Land Only” or “Land and Air” will receive Hotelink transfers during published hours of operation. This is providing that:
    * Passengers are staying at a London hotel on the night of their arrival and the night before their departure.
    * Passengers or their Travel Agents supply the Tour Operator with accurate flight information not less than 21 days prior to departure.
    * European Gateways Tour Operators passengers purchasing “Land Only” will receive coach transfers at the times published in the brochure at NO extra charge. However, if these “Land Only” passengers arrive outside the brochure advertised coach transfer times they must make their own arrangements at their own expense.
    * Passengers purchasing “Land and Air” from Tour Operator will receive coach transfers at times published in the brochure or, if they arrive outside of these set times, then a separate transfer will be booked for them. These transfers will be available only on the days of arrival and departure of the tour.
    * Passengers purchasing pre and post tour accommodation must arrange their own transfers regardless of whether or not they have bought “Air” from the Tour Operator.
