You'll relive the romance and adventure of the pioneers, ivory hunters and gold prospectors as you travel in comfort and style. The beautifully appointed Rovos Rail trains have been restored to reflect the golden age of luxury train travel with attention to modern comfort and convenience.

The Eastern Transvaal tour takes you on a four day journey from Pretoria to Komatipoort through one of the most romantic areas in South Africa. At Komatipoort you'll tour a world famous private Game Reserve where you'll see elephant, rhino, giraffe and lions in their natural environment. A 1,600 km journey takes you from Pretoria through the heart of the country to Cape Town with a stops in the historical diamond rush city of Kimberly and Johannesburg. Rovos Rail also travels on a 620 kilometre route between Cape Town and Knysna through the Hottentots Holland mountains to the coast and on to the lake district. Or you may choose to take a 12 day, 6,100 km epic journey through South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Tanzania, taking in the attractions of Kimberly, Pretoria, Kruger Park, Bulawayo, Victoria Falls, the Luangwa Valley and the historical city of Dar Es Salaam along the way.

MONDAY
11:00 Depart from platform 23 at Cape Town station and proceed inland via Worcester.
18:00 Upon arrival at Matjiesfontein guests tour this quaint village.
19:00 Depart Majiesfontein.

TUESDAY
12:00 Upon arrival at Modder River Station near Kimberley we transfer to the historic Kimberley Club for lunch and then take the electric tram from the City Centre for a tour of the Big Hole and museum.
16:00 Depart Kimberley.

WEDNESDAY
12:00 Arrive Rovos Rail Station, Pretoria. Guests can then continue through to the Victoria Falls.
09:30 Brunch at the Rhino Inn followed by a visit to the Cheetah and Wild Dog Project.
13:30 Depart Klaserie and enjoy th relaxed meander of the train en route to Nelspruit.
