Spanish wonderBarcelona, Madrid, Granada and Seville! What more could you ask for - The medieval town of Toledo and Seville with its mosque and synagogues. Follow the trail of Don Quixote in Puerto Lapice. Marvel at Gaudi's famous buildings and architecture in Barcelona.

Day 1 - Depart USA
Overnight flight to Madrid.

Day 2 - Arrive Madrid (2 nights)
Welcome to the Spanish capital. Madrid! Later, meet your Tour Director for a Welcome Drink and tour briefing with your fellow travelers.

Hotel: Rafael Atocha (2 nights)

Day 3 - Toledo excursion and Madrid sightseeing
First we drive to Toledo where our tour on foot, using our audio system, includes a visit to the Synagogue, the Church of Santo Tome and a local steel workshop. Then we return to Madrid where our sightseeing tour along the wide tree-lined avenues shows us the Cervantes Memorial in the Plaza de España, the Puerta del Sol and we walk to see the magnificent Plaza Mayor. (Buffet breakfast)

Day 4 - Madrid – Cordoba – Seville (2 nights)
Our Tour Director will show us a Hidden Treasure during our travels today. But first to Puerto Lapice of legendary Don Quixote fame, then to Cordoba where we visit the Mosque of the Caliphs and learn of the Moorish history of the region. Then we continue to our hotel in Seville. Tonight we enjoy an authentic tapas dinner in a typical bodega restaurant and learn about the local sherry, manzanillo. (Buffet breakfast / 'Be My Guest' Dinner)

Day 5 - Seville sightseeing and at leisure
Our sightseeing tour takes us through the tree-lined streets of Seville to see the Bell Tower and weather vane of the Giralda. We will also see the pools and fountains of the Maria Luisa Park and Christopher Columbus’ tomb, and continue with a walk through the Jewish quarter. Tonight, why not experience a little Spanish passion at a fiery Flamenco show? (Buffet breakfast)

Day 6 - Seville – Granada
A scenic drive takes us to Granada to enjoy a guided sightseeing tour with our audio system including one of the most important sights in Spain, the Moorish Alhambra Palace. Our guided tour of this magnificent example of Moorish architecture shows us the exotic water gardens of the Generalife, the royal summer residence, where we have fine views over the town and the surrounding hills. Tonight, we dine in our hotel. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)

Day 7 - Granada – Valencia
Via the Mora Pass, we soon arrive at the Troglodyte dwellings of Guadix. Time to take pictures before we continue to Valencia, renowned for its orange groves, where orientation shows us the Bull Ring, the great cathedral and the Towers of Serrano and Cuarte. (Buffet breakfast / Dinner)

Hotel: Abba Acteon Plaza

Day 8 - Valencia – Barcelona (2 nights)
First through the Levant region to Peñiscola for our first stop. Then on to Barcelona where on arrival we will enjoy a sightseeing tour using our audio system and highlighting the fantasies of Gaudi, the Ramblas, the Plaza Catalunya and a walk through the Gothic quarter with its magnificent cathedral. (Buffet breakfast)

Day 9 - Barcelona at leisure
Today is at leisure to explore this fascinating city or to maybe relax with a drink in one of the many open air cafes, shop in the chic boutiques along the Avinguda Diagonal or take an excursion to Montserrat to see the Black Madonna. This evening we enjoy a special Farewell Dinner with wine together with our Tour Director and new-found friends. (Buffet breakfast / Farewell dinner)

Day 10 - Barcelona - USA
Time for final goodbyes to Spain and our fellow travelers as our tour comes to an end. Transfers are available, conditions apply. (Buffet breakfast)

Free airport transfers
Transfers on Day 2 at Madrid Airport will operate at 09.30, 12.30, 15.00 and 17.30. Passengers arriving later should make their own way to the first hotel. Return transfers on the last touring day will arrive at Barcelona Airport at 9.00. For passengers who wish to be transferred to Madrid, we will transfer you to the extra night hotel in Madrid with arrival around 6pm.

First we enjoy a typical dinner in this cosmopolitan city, with drinks included, followed by the opportunity to see the famous 'Dancing Fountains', built for the Worlds Fair of 1929 and one of the wonders of the modern world.

Leaving Barcelona, we head for the sacred mountain of Catalonia. Ascending this staggering rock formation we admire its spectacular panoramic views before arriving at the 'Basilica Real'. Here, newly-weds pledge their vows to the mystical Black Virgin.

We begin by visiting the Picasso Museum. Among the many famous exhibits of Spain’s greatest modern painter, we can particularly admire those from his early years. Then a trip up the hill of Montjuic, for wonderful views over the city and its historic harbour.

ESP22 - GRANADA. Gypsy Night Out
This evening we are taken to the old quarter of Granada, which affords the finest views over the illuminated Alhambra Palace. Here we will enjoy the passionate 'Zambra' dances by Sacromonte's famous gypsies - a fiery emotive performance unique to the gypsies who live in these caves around Granada. One drink is included.

ESP6a - MADRID. El Escorial and the Valley of the Fallen
This guided tour takes us first to the royal city of El Escorial. This great monastery-palace was built in the foothills of the Guadarrama mountains by Philip II, in thanksgiving for his victory over the French at the battle of St. Quentin in 1557. After a break for lunch, we continue to visit the memorial built by Franco to those who fell in the Civil War. High in the mountains, with splendid views, this amazing memorial was cut into the rock face to create the largest basilica ever built. It is surmounted by a cross some 410 feet high.
