Join us on this 8 days and 7 nights ultimate tour, 15 people, 2 countries and lots of fun on this small group guided tour of England and Wales.
Day 1
- After being collected from central London in the morning, the first stop is Leeds Castle. After a short visit it’s on to Canterbury and the world famous Canterbury Cathedral before moving to the south coast and the significant battle site of Hastings.
Day 2
– You have the whole morning in Portsmouth to see Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, scale the Spinnaker Tower or shop in the modern Gunwharf Quays! After lunch here it’s on to the small city of Winchester where you can see Winchester Cathedral before heading to Britain’s most iconic site, Stonehenge.
Day 3 – Today starts with a guided tour of Salisbury. It includes the option to visit Salisbury Cathedral and Georgian Monpesson House. Next it’s onto the Roman city of Bath for a guided tour. The original Roman Baths are next and in the evening you may visit the Thermae bath Spa to take a dip in the hot natural spring water yourself.
Day 4 – This morning you’re off on a tour through the Costwolds. The first stop is the old historical Hailes Abbey followed by a tea stop in a Cotswolds village. After the break you will head north into the mountain region of Snowdonia. Here you will catch the old Ffestiniog Railway Steam Train and take a stunning journey through the mountains and on to Porthmadog where you will have a little time to explore before being collected. Overnight you will stay in a real Welsh Castle.
Day 5 – The first stop this morning is the beautiful and historic city of Chester. After a little time to explore here it’s on to the home of the Beatles, Liverpool. You will have chance here to visit a number of museums and attractions including the Beatles Museum and the Tate North Gallery. After lunch you will head east into the city of Manchester. Here you can enjoy one of the many museums or a tour of the world’s most famous football club Manchester United.
Day 6 – It’s an early drive to England’s Lake District. The first stop is a Lake Windermere cruise followed by a tour of the Lake District. There’s chance to stop for photo’s and the famous Grasmere Gingerbread before heading east and onto the Viking city of York. Your stops here may include the phenomenal York Minster Cathedral, the Jorvik Viking Centre or even the National Railway Museum to name but a few.
Day 7 – It’s south this morning and on to the Peak District national Park. You will be visiting the home of Mr Darcy himself, Chatsworth House. The gardens and house here are incredible and well worth a visit. Afterwards it’s further south still and into Shakespeare’s Stratford on Avon. You will have time here to visit the houses of the bard himself.
Day 8 – It’s the final leg of the tour but that doesn’t mean we’re cutting it short. The first stop is Oxford where you will take a tour of this famous University City and visit one of the universities. Next it’s onto another magnificent stately home, Blenheim Palace. After a tour of this incredible site, the final stop is Windsor Castle before you head back into London.
